I have just returned from Portugal where I did a production check at one of our manufacturers where Circle of Gentlemen shirts are produced, in this case Caetano&Caetano.

I am often asked why our shirts are so expensive and I then tell that this is a combination of using the best Italian fabrics, Portuguese buttons, often made from natural materials, and the best possible European production where handicraft still predominates. This means that we at Circle ca guarantee the most beautiful buttonholes, designs that fit and always correctly placed collars. The collars are extremely important for Circle of Gentlemen because we use a special process that keeps the sturdy collars standing upright.

Our cuff sleeves also have a different size and their own way of making, which requires craftsmanship. When I showed the photos to my colleagues, the idea arose to also share them with the readers of my blog. You can see in the photos that each shirt is still written out in detail, after which collars are produced and the detailing that Circle shirts are known for is applied after the fabrics have been cut. Every detail from a counter fabric in the collar to the inside of cuff sleeves is hand sewn onto the base of the shirt. In short, our shirts are still made entirely by hand, which means that the quality of the fabrics comes into its own and we are very proud of that.
